Zachary Ryan Murphy left this Earth on February 25, 2017, at the age of 14, after a lifelong battle with Hunter Syndrome. Zach was a fighter and lived his life courageously.
Zach enjoyed socializing with friends and family and touched the life of each person he met. Zach's huge heart and big smile changed lives; just knowing him affected his loved ones and friends in a positive way-and Zach knew no strangers-all were his friends. His smile and laughter lit up any room so that everyone near him was instantly lifted.
Zach was a movie buff. He especially loved Rudy and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Zach also loved school. When his health significantly declined in 2016, a special graduation ceremony was held just for him at Skelly Elementary in Tulsa.
Zach is survived by his mother, Valerie Marlow-Murphy, who gave her all in caring for Zach and was his fierce advocate; his father, George Murphy; and his sister, Amy Gioletti (Lauren Young), as well as special grandparents, and a special cat, Zooey.
Through this sad time, we ask that you carry on Zach's legacy. Remember his joy and share it; by sharing Zach's joy, you will make the world a better place, just as he did. Zachary's special gift was his ability to truly love unconditionally. He met life and other people on their terms.
Now he is with his angels. Now he is free.
