Wills P. Buxton, Jr., 77, died Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at his home in Sand Springs. He was born in Fairfax, Oklahoma on Feb. 5, 1928 to Wills P. Buxton and Ida Alice Beathe. He attended schools in Fairfax and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He married Doreen Jewel Firrel, August 18, 1950 and has resided in Sand Springs since 1965.
He was self-employed as a truck driver until his first heart attack and then began selling used cars in Sapulpa, Bristow, Sand Springs, and Cleveland areas until retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of Limestone Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by both parents and three brothers. He is survived by his wife, Doreen; one daughter, Brenda Boyd of Mounds; two brothers: H. L. Hoot Buxton and wife, Helen, and Conrad Jack Buxton, all of Fairfax; two sisters: Nina Davis of Hominy and Ruth Jackson and husband, Claude, of Edmond. Also, one sister-in-law, Colleen Huff, Ponca City.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 11, 2005 between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. at the Limestone Baptist Church in Sand Springs. No formal services are planned.
