William Johnson Woodard, 75, of Jenks entered his heavenly home on July, 24, 2021.
The son of Francis O. and Clara M. (Maddy) Woodard, William was born on March 10, 1946 in Lincoln, Nebraska. After graduating from high school, William attended Wichita State obtaining his BA in Education. William joined the U.S. Navy in 1968 where he became a Lieutenant during the Vietnam War. After leaving the Navy, he taught school in California. It was in 1992, William graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theology Seminary. He was a pastor of a church in Cushing, OK, Chaplain at University of the Ozarks and Westside Presbyterian Church in Lawrence, KS where he retired.
William enjoyed planting gardens and listening to classical music. He was a very loving husband, father, pastor and friend. He enjoyed using the phrase " Hold Your Horses" and will fondly be remembered for his great sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
William leaves behind to honor his life, his wife, Claudia of the home; two sons, Mark Woodard and his partner, Laine, Paul Woodard and his wife, Katherine; step-daughter, Cynthia Perdun; grandson, Ethan Woodard; step grandchildren, Ali, Omar, Alexis and Aden; and many former students and church families.
