William Horace Martin

January 24, 1948 — June 28, 2018

William "Bill" H. Martin, Jr. passed away after a long battle, Thursday, June 28, 2018 in his home surrounded by his family. He was 70.

Bill was born January 24, 1948 in Staten Island, New York. He was the son of Margarita (Rivera) Martin and William Horace Martin, Sr.

Shortly after he was born the Martin family moved to Oxford, Pennsylvania where Bill spent his childhood and graduated from Oxford High School in 1965.

On September 14, 1968, he married the love of his life, Zona Gail (Gray) Martin in Hawaii.

After graduation, Bill made the decision at the age of 17 to join the United States Air Force. He was a Master Sergeant as an Aerospace Ground Technician . Bill spent 21 years serving our country until he retired on February 28, 1986.

Bill had a love for shooting sports. He enjoyed shooting black powder riffles and was a member of the Tulsa Red Castle Gun Club and the Osage Muzzleloader Club. If he wasn't shooting guns you could find Bill fishing and enjoying the peace and quiet. He would often tinker in his garage on small engines and had a large collection of air plane models. He was a fun-loving, honorable man. He provided for his family who he loved very much. He will be remembered as a mentor, friend, brother, dad and husband.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Margarita (Rivera) Martin and William Horace Martin, Sr.

Survivors include his loving wife, Zona (Gray) Martin; two sons, Marty Scott Martin and Charles W Martin; granddaughter, Logan Addison Martin; sister, Lee Brittingham and her husband, Jerry and a brother, Rick Martin and his wife, Lynne.
