Weldon Keith Aday, 68, died peacefully after an extended illness on May 1 at the Porta Caeli House in Tulsa. He was born in Checotah to the proud parents of Audrey and Sheridan Aday on December 12th, 1952.
A graduate of Checotah High School, Keith was a member of the 1969 State Championship Basketball Team. His nickname among his high school friends was "Gunner" and Keith was always ready for a game of horse. With the accuracy and form of Larry Bird, you just knew that you were going to lose. A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Keith enjoyed an extensive career in banking in Oklahoma City serving as a loan officer and branch manager. He later worked for the Mark West Company as a Landman in Elk City. After retirement, Keith enjoyed working parttime for the Dealers Auto Auction in Oklahoma City. During his Dad's declining years, Keith was always there to provide a helping hand despite the long drive. An avid reader, he could readily discuss most any topic with you. A diehard Cowboys fan, he enjoyed following his favorite teams until the very end.
Keith is preceded in death by his parents Sheridan and Audrey Aday and sister Sherry Frame. He is survived by his sister Joyce Aday of Tulsa, his brother Ronnie (Phila) of Nashville, his nieces Angie Frame Eaves (Brian) and Kathryn Aday Elbrink of Nashville, nephews Jon Aday (Krissy) of Escondido, CA and Jeff Frame (Dana) of Muskogee, great nieces, Reagan and Erin Frame and two great nephews, Bryce Couch and Anders Aday and a host of cousins and many special friends.
With fond memories in our hearts, a private Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date. Our heartfelt thanks to his caregivers (Michelle and Stephanie) from Saint Francis Hospice in Tulsa and the caring staff at Porta Caeli House. Memorials in Keith's honor may be made to a charity of your choice or to the Porta Caeli House at portachaeli.org.
