Wayne A. Carter age 68 passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Wayne was born in Wade, Oklahoma to Clyde E. Carter and Rissie (Dalrymple) Carter on June 27, 1940. He attended Hominy High School. He enlisted into the United States Army in 1963 and was honorably discharged in 1965. Wayne worked as an electrician for Claude Neon and A-Max Sign Company for ten years until 1978. He then worked most recently as a cattle rancher in Olsburg, KS and in Belvidere, KS on Anchor D Ranch. Wayne enjoyed roping and riding. On September 17, 2000 he married Karen Kennedy in Hominy, Oklahoma.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents: Clyde and Rissie Carter; his brothers: Louis and Robert Carter and his sister: Noby Clapper.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Carter of Hominy,OK; his son: Chad Carter and his wife, Pamela of Cawker City, KS; his daughter: Pamala Carter of Coweta, OK; step-daughters: Stephanie Hinman and her husband, David of Hominy, OK; Chelle Lookout and her husband, Timmy of Hominy, OK; step-son: Michael Davis and his wife, Melanie of Hominy, OK; brothers: Archie Carter and his wife, Pauline of Hominy, OK; Raymond Carter and his wife, Mary of Hominy, OK, Vernon Carter and his wife, Leeta of Hominy, OK; sisters: Elsie Evans of Cleveland, OK; Zona Ford and her husband, Cletis of Paola, KS; grandchildren: Robert Carter of Olsburg, KS; Chelsea Carter of Manhattan, KS; Dresdyn, Darian, Davyn, Dalaynie and Davis Landree Hinman of Hominy, OK; Stephanie, Beth, Emily and Erin Lookout of Hominy, OK; Kennedy, Kinzie and Kambree Davis of Hominy, OK.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 13th and Sunday, September 14th from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home, Hominy, Oklahoma.
Graveside services will be held Monday, September 15th at 1:00 p.m. at A. J. Powell Cemetery, Hominy, Oklahoma. Reverend Andy Kennedy will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers are: Jon Graham, Dan Snell, Richard Robbins II, Paul Taylor, Monty Robyler and Scott Tyler.
