Wanda Lee Collins

March 28, 1930 - November 3, 2024

Wanda Lee Collins, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and wife, passed away surrounded by her grandchildren on November 3, 2024, at the age of 94. Born on March 28, 1930, Wanda lived a life filled with love, faith, and service to her family and community. She was reunited with her husband, Richard Eugene Collins, who passed away in 2008, and her daughters, Walinda Collins (2005) and Mary Collins Bueno (2020).

Wanda and Richard were married on September 3, 1949, and shared nearly 60 years together. Their partnership was marked by a shared devotion to God, a deep commitment to their family, and a love of adventure. Together, they traveled the world, embracing new cultures and experiences, and finding joy in discovering new places. Their travels were not only an opportunity for exploration but also a reflection of their shared love of life and the beauty they found in the world around them.

As a family, Wanda and Richard played an integral role in starting several churches and sharing the gospel with others. Wanda's faith was the foundation of her life, and she believed deeply in the power of service and community. Her life was marked by an enduring devotion to her family, and she was known for her nurturing spirit, quiet wisdom, and selfless love.

Wanda's greatest joy was her family, and she cherished her role as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her three grandchildren: Jason Bueno and his wife, Kaitlyn, and their son, Benjamin; Richard Bueno and his wife, Yosh Taylor; and Amanda Bueno-Parr and her husband, Justen Parr. Wanda's grandchildren were a constant source of joy, and she took great pride in being an active and loving part of their lives.

In addition to her role as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Wanda worked for a lobbyist firm, Seagram's, on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., where she used her skills in a different but equally impactful way. Whether at home, at work, or in her travels, Wanda served with grace, kindness, and an open heart.
