Walter Wesley Hobbs

Walter Wesley Hobbs age 88 passed away Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the Glenwood Health Care Center in Glenpool, Oklahoma. Walter was born in Washita, Oklahoma on January 6, 1923 to William Shirley Hobbs and Emma Mabel Hayes. He faithfully served his country in the United States Navy and was a veteran of WWII. Walter attended the Naval College of Engineering, Cameron State University, Oklahoma State University, MIT, University Pennsylvania, Penn State and the University of Texas. He received doctorate degrees in Mechanical Engineering and College Administration. Walter's career took him and too many different points on the globe including Ethiopia and Colombia. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and reading. Walter was preceded in death by his parents: William Shirley Hobbs and Emma Mabel (Hayes) Hobbs. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years: Marie Hobbs of Jenks, OK; his daughters: Tara Lisko and her husband Joe of Bixby, OK and Rhonda Hobbs of Jenks; his siblings: Ron Hobbs and Terry Hobbs both of Anadarko, OK; a cousin: Betty Woodruff; his grandson Ian Lisko and his wife Anne and a great granddaughter: Vivian Lisko of Tulsa.
