Walter Jesus Williams

Walter Jesus Williams lived his life as a transparent family man that never gave a fraction of doubt as to what was going through his big, loving, meat head. On August 5th 2021, 50 years after his birth, Walt was being the man we all knew and loved, poking fun at family members inside the tattoo parlor, where he was getting his highly anticipated tattoo; an elk bust and the three-sister's mountain range to commemorate his three sisters, in Glenpool OK. Walt's life began in Los Angeles County California, with his parents Marta and Oscar, prior to coming to Oregon, where he spent much of his more memorable years in "felony flats." (SE Portland Oregon) Being the eldest of his family was a large task for this mischievous man, who accepted the challenge with a grin on his face, knowing that he was going to make life for his younger siblings equally as tough as being the oldest of the family was. Walt was universally known amongst the people who shared moments of joy, and sorrow with him as a trickster, a friend, a father, a husband, a brother, a papa, and an absolute badass.

Living life with Walt over the last decade has been amazing, embarrassing at times, but full of love and laughter. He was the kind of man that took care of his family, including his spouse, children, grand-children and his puppies, Tank and Lillie. He was loved more than life, harassed often, and will be missed desperately. He took the kids in as his own, and loved them like that every day we were together. He chose to be the father and friend he was. He went out of his way for a cup of coffee, or a" just because" lunch date with the kids. He cherished his grand babies, (whom he referred to as chitlin's and gravy), so much, and he made sure to always remember the fun times. He was the epitome of never letting go of your childhood, and continually encouraged nose picking, butt picking, and outrageous behavior. He enjoyed hiding beer cans in random places, just to make sure his presence was known. Walt loved unconditionally and that love will carry him with us every day.

Walt was the kind of man who could turn a negative into a positive at the drop of a hat, usually with an insensitive joke, that he knew would get people to take a moment away from whatever challenging head space they found themselves in, providing them a moment to laugh it off. He gave the best hugs you could ask for, which would make you instantly feel better. While Walt was usually up to mischief in his younger days, he still found time to spend with family and friends to go on drives in his old Celica, blaring one of his many favorite bands. All his family and friends loved visits with Walt, new adventures, good food, great laughs, harmless pranks, drinks at the bar, and stories of days past shared around a fire or somewhere outdoors. (Including a dry-docked pontoon or somewhere questionably close to work like the docks).

While he wasn't pursuing work, family, or friend endeavors, Walt was a deceptively nerdy man, partaking in Marvel movies, comics, Star Trek, cigars, body building, his love for midgets and circus's, bourbon, beer, and boobs. He loved the outdoors, and even coined the phrase, "This is my Church", whenever he found himself in good company, and in mother nature, while showing off his iconic grin and chuckle. Walt loved to camp, fish, hunt, smoke meat, and even though he had the worst luck on the west side of the Mississippi when it came to

bringing an animal home, he sure tried his best every season.

Depending on your relationship with Walt, you either saw the Teddy Bear side, or 'The Hammer' side, as all his brothers and sisters at UPS would describe him being. Many people have described him as a great mentor in their path to success within the UPS family, as he spent a lifetime working and interacting with the many people that called him boss, friend, and co-worker. They have all enjoyed Walt's smile, contagious laughter, and humorous personality.

Walt was a simple kind of man, who would have just wanted people to remember the good moments shared with him, and not to dwell on him not being here anymore, but to focus on family, to help support and build relationships that may have been lost. Walt Williams, Husband, Father, Brother, Papa, Uncle (Uncle Ape), Bad Ass, was supported and loved by many, including a very large extended family that will continue his memory, raise a glass for him, and continue to carry on his legacy in any way possible.



Walt will be missed dearly by his Wife, Cindy Williams, Daughter and Son-in-Law Rachelle and Aaron Powell, Daughter Kylie Garrison, Son Dallas Lyons, Grand Children Kaia, Emmy, Michael, Mirielle and Hailey, Tank and Lillie. His Sister and Brother-in-Law Jackie and Melvyn Monk, Nieces Alysia, Mariah, Kaiyah and Nephew Melvyn III, plus Great Nephew Wesley. His tiny little Sister Celeste Williams and Niece Octavia, His Brother Chris Williams and Nieces Samantha and Xanthe and Nephew Christopher. His Sister Lidia and Nephews Saul, Oscar, and Andy and Great Nephew Saul. His Brother and Sister-in-Law Gary and Leann York, Niece Terra and Nephew KinKade. His Brother and Sister-in-Law Alberto and Veronika Azurdia-Maza, Nephew Tyler and Niece Annabella.


First, thank you to everyone who has been here for us during this heart wrenching time. There are no words to express our gratitude.

Walt would have been so proud of everyone! We would like to share the details of the Celebration of Life.

This event will be set up like an open house from 12:00pm to 8pm. Come when you want and stay as long or as short as you would like. Walt wasn’t much for a scheduled event, therefore this will be as relaxed as possible. Walt's favorite food, tacos and tamales will be provided, as well as water. Feel free to bring your own beverages and we will provide ice chests and cups.

We do ask that if you’re unvaccinated to please wear a mask. Due to current pandemic conditions and our recent tragedy, we cannot risk another.

We are asking everyone to please bring your favorite photo of Walt. (Please no larger than 4x6). We will have a guest book for everyone to sign or write their favorite memory and attach a photo.

We are also working on a Memorial video with hopes of completing it by 9/1. If you have additional photos to share and want them included in the video, please send them to the above email as soon as possible.

Help us celebrate Walt’s amazing life, gather and share memories, laughter and sorrow. We wish to celebrate his positivity, attitude, and positive outlook on life. He will forever live in our hearts.
