Virginia Lee Wesley Eaves, a resident of Shawnee, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011 at the age of 82. She was born October 31, 1928 to Santa and Stella (Watson) Wesley in Dustin, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Federal Executive Board in Kansas City, Missouri, a board member of the American Indian Council in Kansas City and a member of the Haskell Indian Baptist Church in Lawrence, KS. She was preceded in death by her son, James Wesley Deegan; parents, Santa and Stella Wesley; sister, Athylene Farron and brother, Daniel Kenneth Wesley. Survivors include her daughter, Ramona Ellis of Shawnee; sister, Lydia Hogner and husband, Ben of Ft. Gibson, OK; three grandchildren, Matthew Ellis and Valerie Hotop; Kimberly Ellis and Daniel Ellis; four great grandchildren, Kyle Ellis, Kaley Ellis, Brennen Ellis, Kaden Ellis and a grandson on the way, Caleb Ellis and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Henryetta. Wake Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25th at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Henryetta. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26th at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Henryetta with Reverend David Dunson officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Dustin Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Henryetta. Pallbearers will be Matthew Ellis, Daniel Ellis, Kyle Ellis, Marvin Thurman, Solomon Adair and Reverend David Dunson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Pete Riley and Richard Hicks.
