Virginia "Ginny" Mary Leonhart

Virginia (Ginny) Mary Leonhart, 70 of Tulsa, OK peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 23, 2023 with her love, Jerry Leonhart. Ginny was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas January 29, 1953 to Dr. Robert Feighny M.D. and Helen Feighny.

Ginny lived in Salina, KS, Lawton, OK, and multiple other places throughout her childhood with her military family. She graduated high school in Salina Central Kansas class of 1971.

Ginny married the love of her life, Jerry Leonhart On October 18, 1985. “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you” Isaiah 66:13. She was a dedicated mother to her two children Jacqueline Coffelt and Bruce Leonhart. An even more doting grandmother to her amazing grandchildren, Sarah Millison, Austin Finney, Chris Askren, Alyssa Askren, Bella Leonhart, Kimberly Millison, Emma Leonhart, Faith Grey, and Raymond Leonhart.

She was a phenomenal daughter, sister, homemaker, mother, wife, friend, and grandmother. She truly enjoyed it and made a point to care for others over herself. She never bragged about herself. She gave blood at Oklahoma Blood Institute, dedicated herself to being active and present for her family and friends. Whether that meant being at all events she could, driving endless miles and hours, to sending and writing letters and cards. Her compassion overflowed in life and even after her passing she proudly made the decision to give herself, literally, by donating her organs and tissue. She truly cared for others more than herself like the bible says love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another (John 13:34b). The few times that Ginny did anything for herself, she would needle point, crotchet, do word searches, and play with her grandchildren. She was a Faithful follower of Jesus at Hope United Methodist Church in Tulsa, OK.

Ginny is survived by Jerry Leonhart (home), Jacqueline Coffelt (Kansas), Bruce Leonhart (Tulsa, Oklahoma), Tela Leonhart (Tulsa, Oklahoma), Dennis Feighny (Topeka, Kansas), Rebecca Howell (Alaska), Sarah Millison (Tulsa, Oklahoma), Austin Finney (Pleasant Valley, Missouri), Chris Askren (Topeka, Kansas), Alyssa Askren (Nebraska), Bella Leonhart (Tulsa, Oklahoma), Emma Leonhart (Tulsa, Oklahoma), Raymond Leonhart (Tulsa, Oklahoma), Kimberly Millison (Kansas), and Faith Grey (Kansas). She was preceded in death by Dr. Robert E. Feighny MD, Helen Feighny, Julie Wilkinson, Dr. Robert J. Feighny, Leo Feighny, Pat Feighny, her precious pets Willy Bob, Rex and Hot Rod.

Visitation for Ginny will be 5 PM to 7 PM, May 31, 2023, at Schaudt Tulsa Funeral Service, 5757 S Memorial Drive, Tulsa, OK 74145

Funeral services for Ginny will be held at 12PM, June 1, 2023 at Hope United Methodist Church, 12424 E 31 St, Tulsa, Ok 74146, with Andrew Leonhart officiating.

A graveside service for Ginny will be held at 10AM on June 24, 2023, at Greenwood Union Cemetery, 253 150 Road, Hunter, KS 67452.
