Family will receive friends for viewing and visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service. Virginia passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018. She was 92.
Virginia Elizabeth “Beth” (Sanders) Holloway was born to Earl Maurice Sanders and Nova Grace (Fly) Sanders on November 6th, 1925 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was married to Paul Eugene Holloway on November 7th, 1947, and they continued to live in Tulsa for their 71 years of marriage.
Raised during the Depression, Beth was content and humble. A servant, she served in a way that her relationship with and dependence in Christ was evident. She was exceptionally generous to others with her time, care, and love. Being a housewife was a job she took pride in. Her home was well kept, rarely leaving a task undone. As a committed wife and mother, she prioritized her family’s needs and likes above her own. Paul and Beth had two children, Donna Gail (Holloway) Bryant, and Dale Eugene Holloway. As a mother, she was present and involved, devoting her time to the PTA. Church was of high importance to her, raising her children at Hale Baptist. Later, she and Paul attended Immanuel Baptist Church until they were no longer able. Beth had a gift for true hospitality. She enjoyed cooking and serving, for the everyday or holiday’s, taking note of likes and dislikes of her guests. She valued her friendships and relationships with family. She prioritized them and always made time to call or send a card. She took great pride in sharing her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids, making sure to carry pictures and newspaper clippings to show them off. Beth was also a fighter. She survived her fight with Leukemia in 1990, and the loss of their daughter Donna in 2004. She continued in her fight till the very end, determined to stay on this side of Heaven. Her legacy is one to be commended. She no doubt will be rewarded to hear “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Donna (Holloway) Bryant, father, Earl Sanders, mother Nova (Fly) Sanders, and siblings Carol Sanders and Vera Jean (Sanders) Arwood.
Beth is survived by her husband, Paul Holloway, son, Dale Holloway, and wife Debra (Breland) Holloway of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, her grandson, Brandon Holloway, and wife Britni (Vaughan) Holloway, of Cherokee, Oklahoma, her granddaughter, Chelsea Holloway, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, great-grandsons, Lincoln, Oliver, and Benjamin, and sister Carolyn (Sanders) Fleming.
