Violet Mae Sullivan, 86, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 in her home.
Violet was born October 18, 1930 in Arthur, ND to Bertha (Grieger) and Adolf Priewe. She graduated from Amenia High School.
Violet started her family in West Fargo, ND. Most of her relatives still live near West Fargo. From there she moved to several places including Hastings, Nebraska; Indianola, Iowa; and White Bear Lake, Minnesota. In 1972 she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she resided until her death.
Violet was a member at First Lutheran Church in Tulsa.
She loved working in her yard and tending to her flower gardens. Violet also enjoyed fishing from a boat with her favorite rod and reel, attending dances 1-2 times per week, and bowling with her friends - she won numerous individual and league trophies. She enjoyed gambling; she didn’t like losing very much money, but was eternally optimistic. Her beloved Golden Retriever Sunshine, who kept Violet active for the past 10 years, was like a child to her. Violet will be greatly missed by Sunshine and her human family.
Violet is preceded in death by her parents, Bertha (Grieger) and Adolf Priewe; her brother, Janis Priewe; and her grandson, Caleb Sullivan.
Surviving relatives include:
Three siblings - two sisters, Harriet Vining and Patty (Francis) Peterson; and one brother, Wesley Priewe;
