Vernon Gene Shaw

Vernon Gene Shaw age 84 passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Vernon was born September 10, 1926 to James A. Shaw and Arene (Quillin) Shaw in Sentinel, Oklahoma. He graduated in 1944 from Northeast High School in Oklahoma City. He served his country in the United States Navy. Vernon married Florence Welch December 31, 1951. Vernon worked for Southwestern Bell for thirty-seven years and retired in 1987. He was an accomplished artist and enjoyed sculpting.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents: James and Arene Shaw; two brothers and his son.
He is survived by his wife: Florence of Tulsa; his son: Michael G. Shaw and his wife, Cecilia of Tulsa; his brother: Charles Ray Shaw of Norman, Oklahoma; his sister: Carol Shaw of Midwest City, Oklahoma; two loving grandchildren; two great-grandchildren along with other family members and friends.
