Vera Rose (Prather) Bailey, 95, went to be with our Lord and Savior and her loving husband in Heaven. She was born in Cromwell, OK to Floyd and Myrtle Prather, on December 13, 1926. After moving to other oil field towns in Oklahoma with her parents and brothers, she graduated high school from Ramona High School. She studied nursing in Tulsa, OK. She met and married the love of her life, William Clay (Bill) Bailey on January 29, 1946. Their union was blessed with three sons, Michael, David and Chris.
She was devoted to her husband and family, loved to travel and also root on her University of Oklahoma Sooners in football.
She is preceded in death by her husband (Bill), her parents, both of her brothers: William and Earman, and her sister-in-law Nell. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Sherri) Bailey, David (Laurie) Bailey, and Chris (Michelle) Bailey. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Camron (Paige) Smith, Scott (Caitlin) Bailey, Mark (Jenn) Bailey, Steven (Ashley) Bailey, Matthew (Reagan) Bailey and Daniel Bailey. She was also a great grandmother to six wonderful grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. There were only boys in the Bailey family who Rose loved very much but Rose was thrilled when her grandson Matthew presented her with a beautiful great-grandbaby girl in October 2020.
Rose was a devoted and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She will be truly missed by all that knew and loved her. May our loving memories of her last forever.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at University Village for all their care and kindness over these last few years.
