Velva Veronica Stout

Velva Veronica Stout finished her journey on December 3, 2022, at the age of 77, at her home in Glenpool, Oklahoma surrounded by family. Velva was born on March 5, 1946, in Broken Arrow to Lydia and Sam Chisholm. She grew up on the Haikey Chapel grounds with her family. She attended Jenks Public Schools and received her GED at the age of 35. She was proud to be a Glenpool Public Schools bus driver where she loved and enjoyed all her students throughout her 25 years of service.

Velva kept a home that was open to anyone and everyone. No one left her house with an empty stomach. She had an infectious laugh that filled the room. She always told you how it was rather you wanted to hear it or not. Velva enjoyed her time with family watching movies, going shopping, and hitting the casino. She was very much invested in her family. Many children and adults considered her grandma even though they were not related.

Velva is survived by her brother, Sam Chisholm and wife Rose of Taos New Mexico, daughter, Angela Searcy of Glenpool, grandson, Jeffery Searcy and wife Nichell of Glenpool, grandson, Joshua Stout and wife Heather of Mounds, granddaughter Audrey Eastin of Glenpool, several great-grandchildren, Zachary, Payton, Gabryel, Maci, Abigail, Joshua Jr., Zoey, and Autumn and a host of other family and friends.

Velva is preceded in death by her parents Sam and Lydia Chisholm, brother Andrew Chisholm, husband, Bill Farmer, sister, Mildred Bible, great grandson Jacob Searcy, nephew, Billy Reed, niece, Kay Francis Chisholm-Krow, niece, Linda Chisholm, niece, Leigh Ann Chisholm, and brother, Anderson Chisholm.

Velva was loved and will be missed by so many.

Wake services will be held on December 8, 2022 at 6:00pm at Haikey Chapel in Broken Arrow. Funeral services will be on December 9, 2022 at 10:00am at Haikey Chapel in Broken Arrow. 8815 East 101st St South, Tulsa, OK 74133 (On 101st Between Memorial Dr & Mingo).
