Vanville Perry Jr. age 69, passed away at Hillcrest Hospital South due to complications from COVID-19 on August 30, 2021. He fought the virus until the very end.
God presented him unto the union of Vanville Perry Sr and Darnella Roberts Perry on February 3, 1952. Out of this marriage they had 6 children and 2 stepsisters and 1 stepbrother. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, brother, Michael Wayne Perry, and stepsister Elaine Perry.
Van grew up on 39th and Euclid and attended Horseman Elementary and Paseo High School. He married Sheila Perry and in the union, they had one daughter. His second wife was Audrey Perry. Last he married Gwendolyn Diane Perry the one and only and last love, together for 39 years. From this union Van has 3 children and 2 stepchildren. Van was a very outgoing person and would tell you how he feels about you. He LOVED to drink his beer and play MUSIC and call everybody in his contact list. He also loved the KC Chiefs, he was eagerly waiting for football to start.
Van professed a hope in Christ and joined Spirit & Truth Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Mike Dillingham until he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. He participates online for church service.
Van was a valued employee as a Direct Care Aid for 10 years. Prior to that he was a Kansas City Bus Driver for 25 years. He was also a great gardener and a PARTY ANIMAL.
Memories of Van will be cherished by his loving wife, Gwendolyn Diane Perry, his daughter Vanessa (Usamah) Lawson, his son Vanville {Perry III, his daughter Vannesha Perry and 2 stepdaughters Diane Rene Ivey (Jamon Pointer) and Melishe Chaunte' Ivey. His sisters and brother, Linda (Glen) Brown, Alfreda Taylor, Alfred Perry, Phyllis Miller. He has 1 stepbrother, Ronald (Ardodia) Perry, and 1 stepsister Sandra Perry. Van and Diane together have 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends
