Tony Calvin Schwab

March 21, 1943 — June 9, 2023

Our one-of-a-kind father, grandfather, and friend, Tony Calvin Schwab, left this world peacefully in his home at Town Village in Tulsa, OK. Tony was called home on June 9, 2023. Apparently, God was ready to be entertained with his funny stories and learn new vocabulary words!

Tony was born on March 21, 1943, to Marcille Schwab and Glenn Smith in Konawa, OK. Tony grew up with two sisters and two brothers all of whom have passed away. Tony grew up in Oklahoma City (better known as Coco city to his family). He attended Northwest Classen in OKC, graduating in 1962. After high school, Tony attended Oklahoma State University - GO POKES!, where he earned a BS in Agriculture. While at OSU, Tony was introduced to his sister's roommate, Darla Goodman. They dated for nine months and married on May 28, 1966.

Tony entered the National Guard shortly after marriage where he served in the Reserves for seven years. Tony worked in various careers including social work, real estate, Double Takes, and finally as a Division Order Analyst for many oil companies. After retiring, Tony found joy in shopping for and selling antiques as well as purchasing cows, although not for any other reason than to be his pets! One of his greatest pleasures was caring for his cows.

Tony lived a full and happy life. Some might even say he had 9 lives. Tony was a free spirit, and he had a knack for finding the best in everyone. His positive attitude, infectious smile, and magnetic personality drew people to him – male, female, young, and old. Even when things were hard, Tony could always find the positive aspect in a difficult situation. He loved people, socializing, and he had an uncanny ability to find a way to put himself at the center of attention. If you knew Tony, consider yourself one of the luckiest individuals alive. He wore joy on the outside like no one else and he was more than happy to share that joy with anyone he came across.

Tony was preceded in death by his mother, Marcille Schwab, his father, Glenn Smith, his two brothers, Vance and Greg Schwab, as well as his two sisters, Vicki Canady and Angela Schwab. Tony is survived by his two children, daughter, Tonda Davis, son, Shane Schwab, his four grandchildren, Alexandra Akers, Levi Davis, Cassidy Schwab, and Colin Schwab. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a plethora of close friends that will miss him dearly.

A celebration of life to honor Tony will be held at 2:00 PM on June 30, 2023 at Arrow Heights Baptist Church, 3201 S. Elm Place, Broken Arrow, OK 74012, with Bob Green officiating.
