Tom Archie Coe

Tom Archie Coe, age 88, passed from this life October 14, 2021, in Spavinaw, Oklahoma, after 6 years of suffering from many strokes.

Tom was born to Archibald Ferris Coe and Velma Coe on April 24, 1933 in Lipan, Texas. Tom was from a family of four siblings and a step-sister.

Tom's parents moved to Talala, Oklahoma in his early childhood. He graduated from the Talala School and worked milking dairy cows and running a milk route to Tulsa. Tom and his brother Melvin hauled hay for local farmers.

He was also a youth leader and preached in the church he attended.

Tom married Naydean Reagan and lived in and around Chelsea and Talala until 1960.

In 1960, Tom and his wife, bought a Grade A Dairy farm and moved to Centerton, Arkansas.
Tom also had a Chicken house cleaning business. He also worked for Steel Canning Company in Springdale, Arkansas. Later he started a logging business. They also raised and sold registered beagle puppies.

Tom and his wife bought and moved to west of Decatur, Arkansas to a farm , again milking dairy cows and raising Cornish Hens for a chicken company. He also continued the logging business.

Tom sold the Decatur farm and moved back to the Centerton farm.

Tom and Sherry (Hickson) married in 1987 and continued on the dairy farm and logging.

In 2000, Tom and Sherry moved to Spavinaw, Ok. There they continued to do the logging business.

Tom's favorite thing to do was work his horses, whether it was going to horse pullings for fun or putting hay out for the dairy cows. One of dads best gifts was the "the gift of gab" and the love for his horses.

For over 30 years he hosted a wagon drive each year. Many people came and enjoyed the drive and fun riding the wagons and their horses.

Tom is survived by daughters, Stacey Garr and husband Vernon, Dannetta Neal and husband, Jim, Hollee Couch and husband, Tyler, son Jody Hinkel. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Tom was preceded in death by his father, Archibald Ferris Coe and mother, Velma Coe-Clemmens, his son, Marquise Keith Coe, granddaughter Monique Bonnstetter, and great-grandson Marquise Kenneth Bonnstetter, and grandson John Neal. Sisters Barbara Hicks, JoAnn Harper, brother Melvin Coe, and step-sister Maxine Nunn.

The family would like to thank the dedicated health professionals with the local Hospice organization. And, a special thank you to Shelly Deane and Jody Hinkel for their continued care in the home throughout the last 6 years.

The funeral services will be October 30, 2021, at 2:00 pm, at Spavinaw Hills House of Worship. Tom will be laid to rest in the Spavinaw Strang Cementery.
