Thelma Cleatus Cann
Thelma Cleatus Cann, 89, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away, Monday, April 17, 2017, at her residence.
Thelma was born in Mannford, Oklahoma, on September 14, 1927, the daughter of the late Delta (Essary) Ligett and Carl Ligett. Thelma graduated high school in Delaware, Oklahoma, in 1945. She received her bachelor's degree from Kansas State Teachers College in 1952. She was one of the original teachers who taught kindergarten and fourth grade at Arrow Head Elementary with the Broken Arrow School District for many years. Thelma married Harry Cann in 1953, and they had many happy years together raising their three children. Thelma enjoyed playing the piano, baking, and gardening. She and Harry were volunteers at the Linneaus Gardens in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Thelma loved taking family vacations to the Rocky Mountains where she loved the beauty and fresh mountain air.
Thelma is preceded in death by her parents; Delta and Carl Ligett.
She is survived by her children; Diana Nowotny, Denise Ingle and her husband Ron, and John Cann and his wife Erika, grandchildren; Sarah Nowotny, Jeremy Ingle and his wife Monica, Chris Ingle, and Rachel Halidak and her husband Ray, Sean Cann, and six great-grandchildren.
