Teddy Beesley

March 8, 1948 — January 12, 2025

Beggs, Oklahoma

Teddy Amon Beesley of Beggs, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the age of 76 years. Ted was born on March 8, 1948, in Nuyaka, Oklahoma, to his parents, Henry and Esther (Owen) Beesley as child number 19 of 21 (Jewel, Duff, Frank, Ida, Fray, Flay, Hazel, Ruth, Gene, Jimmy, Dorothy, Alva, Fred, Sue, Zene, Faye, Bill, Ed, Danny, and Judy). Early childhood challenges, including a battle with polio and spinal meningitis, led to him being raised by his sister Dorothy and her husband, Glen Harris. It was at the Harris home where he became the big brother to four more: Dale, Tracy, Dottie, and Scott. Despite the health challenges he faced, he grew to embody resilience and determination.

A proud graduate of Nathan Hale High School, Ted furthered his education at Oklahoma State Institute of Technology (Okmulgee Tech), where he became the first member of his family to graduate from college. He earned a degree in electronics, and with that he embarked on a successful career as an Electronic Technician, working for companies such as Telex, GTE, ADP, and IBM. His expertise in electronics extended to critical systems, including stock exchange servers and advanced technology infrastructure.

Ted married the love of his life, Susie, on December 2, 1966, and the couple celebrated 58 years of marriage together, building a legacy of love, partnership, and shared memories. One daughter, Theda, and one son, Robert, were born into this beautiful union. His grandchildren were the joy of his life.

Ted was a devoted servant of God. He firmly believed that no one cares how much you know until they know how much you care. He lived a life full of kindness, compassion, and generosity.

Known for his musical talent, Ted loved playing and collecting guitars and had a natural inclination for music that brought joy to many. His passion for music inspired many to pursue music and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Ted is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Esther (Owen) Beesley, Glen and Dorothy Beesley Harris, son Robert Beesley, brothers Frank, Fray, Flay, Gene, Jimmy, Alva, Tracy and sisters Duff, Ida, Hazel Ruth, Dorothy, Sue, and Faye. Those left to cherish his memory include wife Carolyn Beesley, daughter Theda and her husband Kevin Boydston, daughter-in-law Shanon Martin, grandchildren Taylor Whitlock and her husband Arthur, Aaron Beesley, Chelsi Boydston Criqui and her husband Weston, Adria Boydston, and Kyla Knight as well as numerous family members and countless friends.
