Tecumseh Jackson, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the age of 78. He was born October 5, 1935 to Timmie O. and Louella (Redd) Jackson in Hanna, Oklahoma. Tecumseh attended the Chilocco Indian School and graduated in 1954. While serving with the United States Navy, he entered training and became an X-Ray Technician, at which he worked for many years. His love for the medical field aspired him to train as a Physician Assistant. He formerly worked for the IHS, VA and public hospitals and later retired from private practice in 1993. Tecumseh moved back to Oklahoma in 2010 and made residence in Okmulgee, where he renewed old acquaintances and made many new friends and he enjoyed being close to his brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by parents, Timmie and Louella Jackson; his wife of 33 years, Alice Nez Jackson; two brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his two sons, Timmie O. Jackson and wife, Rhonda of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Jimmy O. Jackson of Farmington, New Mexico; six brothers, Billy Jo Jackson of Weleetka, Louie Jackson of Muskogee, Jackie Jackson and wife, Dianna of Okmulgee, Andrew Jackson and wife, Karen of OKC, Robert Jackson and wife, Wilma of Okmulgee and Jacob Jackson and wife, Molline of Eufaula; one sister, Susanna Jackson Marshall of Weleetka; four grandchildren, Timi Matlack, Brittany Jackson, Jordan Jackson and Kelsey Jackson; two great grandchildren, Tyler and Sophia Matlack; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2014 at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee with Reverend Jimmy Anderson officiating. A reception will follow the service at the Belvin Baptist Church 320 N. Mission St. Okmulgee. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Navy.
