Sybil Yvette Walker passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019, surrounded by family and friends, at her home, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on September 4, 1957, in Brooklyn, New York, to William and Thelma Slaughter. She was married to Randy D. Walker in November of 1982.
She attended high school in Italy, as Vencenza High School, and developed a love for travel, going to places to such as Paris, Italy, and San Vito. Later Sybil would attend the Community College of the Air Force, and receive an Associate's Degree. She was a proud veteran of the US Air Force, serving for over 9 years. After that she drove for Schneider Trucking Company, CAT Bus in Las Vegas for the Elderly, and finally did security at TSA for 7 years before retiring. Sybil lived in many places, including California, Las Vegas, Colorado Springs, Tennessee, Maryland, San Vito, Italy, Montana, Texas, and New Mexico.
In her younger years, she loved basketball, and was active in cheerleading as well as modeling school. She was a Brindisi cheerleader for the Football Team. Later in life she to crochet, read, and go to movies. Sybil was simple, kind, loving, sweet, and very family oriented.
Survivors include: sons, Terry McClain, and his wife Vanessa, Darnel Walker, and his wife Honey; mother, Thelma Slaughter; grandchildren, Sabrea McClain, Keandre McClain, Aiyanna Walker, Dawan Walker; sisters, Paula Wilson, Linda Slaughter, Lucretia Slaughter, Carole Slaughter; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A gathering for time of remembrance and fellowship will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service Chapel. Burial with military honors will be at 1:00 PM, on Friday, May 24, 2019, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, in Denver Colorado.
