Shirley Lind Day age 70 went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Saint Francis Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born September 7, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri to D. V. Callahan and Willie Belle Rogers. She graduated from high school in Ardmore, Oklahoma in 1954. She married the love of her life, John Joe Day, January 12, 1952 in Gainesville, Texas. Shirley and her husband recently moved from Eureka Springs, Arkansas to Glenpool, Oklahoma to be close to her family.
Shirley loved to read, plus doing crafts of all kinds and enjoyed scrap booking. She made her own cards which she sent to her friends and family members. She was known as the Card Lady for her amazing artistic talent and for sharing her cards with all those people close to her.
Shirley was preceded in death by both parents; her son: John J. Day II (deceased in 1991) and grandchild: Sarah Nadrash.
Mrs. Day is survived by her husband, Dr. John J. Day of Glenpool, Oklahoma; children: Jo Lind Nadrash and her spouse, Edward, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Andrea Delores Blackston and her spouse, Jerry of Glenpool, Oklahoma.
Grandchildren: Brandon Nadrash and his spouse, Ann of Denver, Colorado; Heidi Mayer and her spouse, Zach of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Neil Nadrash and his spouse, Cheryl of Carrollton, Texas; Michelle Cole and her spouse, Lance, Glenpool, Oklahoma; Angela Jordan and her spouse, Jeff of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Jennifer Perry and her spouse, Lee of Collinsville, Oklahoma.
Shirley is also survived by the following great grandchildren: Hannah Mayer, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Hunter Perry, Collinsville, Oklahoma; Mackenzie Cole, Glenpool, Oklahoma; Chyna Mayer, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Ethan Jordan, Virginia Beach, Virginia; Noah Cole, Glenpool, Oklahoma; Andrew Nadrash, Carrollton, Texas; Jackson Perry, Collinsville, Oklahoma; Tyler Jordan, Virginia Beach, Virginia and Sarah Belle Nadrash of Carrollton, Texas.
A memorial service will take place 12:00 Saturday, April 1, 2006 at St. Lukes Episcopal Church. Father Patrick Douthitt will officiate.
A second memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Reverend Edie Bird will officiate.
