Shirley Jean Holmes

Shirley Jean (Beach) Holmes was born in Dewey, Oklahoma on January 1, 1931 to Fred and Julia (Ervi) Keller. She spent her childhood years during the depression in Dewey and Nowata, Ok before moving to Tulsa at age 12.

She graduated from Will Rogers High School n 1949, where she was a cheerleader and a member of the Lariat Staff. She married Lloyd in 1953 and they had four daughters, Lyndelle, Lauren, Loretta and Lydia. They were married for 62 years.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Charlotte; daughters, Loretta and Lydia; and son-in-law, Marvin Lasley.

Shirley enjoyed reading, traveling to Las Vegas to visit her mother, cruising with Lloyd, attending OSU football games, going to the Casino, and spending time with all of her girls.

She was a friend of Bill W. for over 29 years and appreciated spending time with her Saturday morning group.

She is survived by her daughters, Lyndelle Spellman and Lauren Lasley; granddaughter, Courtney Powell; great granddaughters,a Haley Spry, Julia and Tatum Frescaz and great grandson, Kaidan Jobe.

Shirley was one of a kind and she is loved for it. GO POKES!

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service in Tulsa.
