Shirley Ann Kisner

January 6, 1923 — July 28, 2011

Shirley Templeton Kisner passed away into the arms of Jesus on July 28th 1:42 am 2011. She will be missed by her family and friends. Shirley was a long time resident of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, moving to Broken Arrow in 2007. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Shirley retired from Northeastern State University from the Graduate Department. In 1942 Shirley wed John Wayburn Templeton and had 2 children from that marriage. Ann Templeton Radebaugh, husband Ron from Broken Arrow, Ok. and Rickey Templeton from Arizona. Wayburn passed away in 1956 and the family moved to Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She received her degree from Northeastern State, then went to work for Northeastern State University Assistant to Graduate Department. Shirley met and married Jack Kisner in 1959, he had 3 children David Kisner, wife Janie now of Edmond, Bob Kisner of California, and Francis Ann Kisner McDaniel, diseased, husband Jerry McDaniel of Tahlequah. Shirley had 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren a niece from Scotland, and 2 nephews in Mo. She is preceded by death by her first husband Wayburn Templeton, second husband Jack Kisner Tahlequah, a sister Francis Meyer of Ft. Smith Ark., and daughter Francis Ann Kisner McDaniel. Shirley loved the Lord and was a loving person. She had a love for animals, and did volunteer work in animal rescue and a resale shop for the Methodist Church in Tahlequah. She passed away at Broken Arrow Nursing Home and had a wonderful hospice staff helping her through the journey. She graduated to Glory and we Praise God for His care for her. Her service was held at Memorial Park July 30 th where she will be placed next to Wayburn Templeton, by her request. We love you, your smile, happy attitude and loving spirit. Shilrey was very loved by the employees at BA Nursing Home, and Heartland Assisted Living. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C. Schaudt of Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service & Cremation Care.
