Shirley Ann Dorsey

Shirley Ann Dorsey, age 75, passed from this life to the next at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa on Thursday, October 9, 2014. Shirley was raised in the Porum area and lived most of her life in Oklahoma. She will join her husband, Melvin, in Section 19 of Fort Gibson National Cemetery.

Shirley was a wonderful storyteller, and those who will pass on her stories include her children, Glinda and John Hausam of Tulsa, Joyce and Calvin Rock of Muskogee, Cindy and Cliff Cloyd of Muskogee, and Danny Dorsey of Chouteau; six grandchildren, Lynett Rock, Marcie Snovel, Jimmy Rock, Staci Snovel, Jeanine Dorsey and Adam Dorsey; and three great-grandchildren, Scarlet Rock, Tyler Crull and Harrison Crull. Shirley also leaves behind six siblings; Janis Cole, Randy Bomer, Darrel Arnett, Jerry Arnett, Linda Franco and Ellen Sullins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Dorsey; two siblings, Carlene Shreve and Carl Arnett, Jr.; and her parents, Carl Arnett and Agnes Bomer.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Saint Francis Hospital for the care provided to Shirley in her last days.
