Shirley Ann Aabel

Shirley Ann Aabel passed away early Sunday morning, August 2, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born September 28, 1927 in Bladen, Nebraska, the daughter of Claude and Bernice McMahon. Shirley married Gene Aabel on March 27, 1948 in Hastings Nebraska, whom preceded her in death. She pursued a career as a medical assistant and spent many years raising her family.

Shirley served on the Hastings Public Library Board, organized volunteers with the Red Cross Blood Mobile Unit, and she was the first lady deacon at the First Presbyterian Church in Hastings, Nebraska.

Shirley is survived by her children: Nancy Bragg of Ashville, NC, Barbara Galvin of San Diego, CA, Doug Aabel of Minneapolis, MN, and Sally Broderick of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren: Brian Bragg, Kyle Bragg, Jeff Bragg, Sean Galvin (Jennifer), Erin Galvin (Judd Harrison), Luke Aabel, Dan Broderick (Lisa); and her great -grandchildren: Paige, Declan, Ava, and Liam.
