Sherri Lee Carr, of Jenks, Oklahoma peacefully passed away at home on September 2, 2019 at age 79,
surrounded by her family.
She was born to the late A.C. and Carmen Key on August 1, 1940 in Blackwell, Oklahoma. Sherri grew up in Healdton, Oklahoma where she was a band member, crowned football queen and graduated from Healdton High School. After meeting and marrying Zane Carr, they lived in Beggs, Oklahoma for a few years before settling in Jenks, Oklahoma to raise their two children, Tommy & Kathy. Sherri enjoyed working for the administration department of Jenks Public Schools for 26 years before retiring in 2006.
Her most treasured role in life was being a loving, supporting mother to her children. She cherished God’s word, church, the truth and serving her family. She had a great sense of humor and a ready, contagious laugh.
Her down home cooking was famous to all her loved ones. The tender heart, compassion, beauty and wisdom she exuded will be greatly missed, yet those that love her most grieve with hope and joy for her return to her true home and Father.
Sherri is survived by her two children, Tommy Carr(Tammy), Kathy Lovelace(Mickey), her brother Gary
Key(Sandy) her sister Debby Askins, seven grandchildren; Hayden, Kelsey, Shane, Aubrey, Sydni, Brinlee and Cyrus along with one great grandchild, Silas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Zane Carr, her brother, Dennis Key and parents, A.C. and
Carmen Key.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Glenpool Church of Christ(12932 S Elwood Ave, Glenpool, OK 74033) followed by a lunch provided by the church for the relatives. There will a private interment at Greenlawn Cemetery.
