Sherman Arthur Dotson Sherman Arthur Dotson, a longtime resident of Okmulgee, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the age of 74. He was born Sunday, March 28, 1937 to Robert and Gladys (Butcher) Dotson in Bristow, Oklahoma. On October 27, 1956, he married Molly C. Simpson in Drumright, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gladys Dotson; one infant son; sister, Frankie Loyd and brother, Bobby Dotson. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Molly Dotson of the home; three children, Darrell Dotson and wife, Lottie of Okmulgee, Cheryl Dotson of Okmulgee and Darren Dotson and wife, Mary of Tiger Mt.; three sisters, Alice Loyd and husband, Harold of OKC, Donna Daniels of Stroud and Shirley Treanor and husband, Robert of OKC and six grandchildren, Laurie Whitesell, Brandon Rodgers, Matthew Dotson, Tabatha Evans, Becky Baker and Griffin Goodnight, Jr. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee with Reverend Craig Hobbs officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Stroud Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
