Sheila Francis Nelson

Sheila “Corky” Francis Nelson Sheila “Corky” Nelson, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Monday, January 31, 2011 at the age of 60. She was born Sunday, January 21, 1951 to Verlin and Betty (Dunn) Pope in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She is a member of the Oasis Church in Okmulgee. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James Murphy and two sisters, Sandy Murphy and Debbie McFarlin. Survivors include her two daughters, Kelly Bear and husband, Erwin and Brandy Nelson all of Okmulgee; three sons, Jimmy, Gary and Chuck Nelson; companion and lifelong friend, Daniel Hill of Okmulgee; two sisters, Christine Taylor and husband, Robert and Sharell Pope, all of Okmulgee; three brothers, Billy Dunn and wife, Karion, Joseph Pope all of Okmulgee and Benjamin Pope and wife, Judy of Kansas City; seven grandchildren, Justin, Bryan and Angela Nelson, Endica and Kiona Reich, Gracie and Emily Bear; two great grandchildren, Sylas Nelson and Lilyana Jackson and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Oasis Church in Okmulgee with Brother Michael Ballew officiating.
