Sharon Wells Bostick died on Saturday, January 30th in Brownwood, Texas after a courageous battle with COVID 19. She was born December 21, 1947 in Lubbock, Texas to Dewey & Margie (Moore) Wells, Jr. Sharon married Gary Bostick in April 1965. They divorced in 1976, but in May of 2015 they remarried in a beautiful ceremony at the home of their dear friends the Waldrop’s. They never really spent anytime apart and together they built an amazing life, they were successful owners of many things through the years, real estate, roofing business, automobile dealership. She was still running the family business up until her passing and in fact from her hospital bed. The respiratory therapist shared that he had to tell her to stop working, and that her breathing was more important than whomever was on the other line.
She loved to travel, some of her favorite trips were to Ireland, Israel, Costa Rico, Norway, Sweden, New York, Washington State, Colorado, New Mexico. She went by several names, Mom, Granna, Boss Lady, and Sharon. Sharon graduated from Ralls High School in 1966. The Ralls 66 girls took many trips together in recent years. She supported many groups in her community, Boys & Girls Club, Brownwood Education Foundation, Brown County Youth Fair and sponsored many youth sports teams in Brown County. She was a member of the Women’s Club of Brownwood and the club served many needs of the Brownwood community. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Dwayne, and her husband.
Survivors include her children: Mike Bostick of Brownwood, Texas and his long-time companion Rhonda Harmon; Don Bostick of Brownwood, Texas and his wife Stephanie; Lisa Meacham of Tulsa, Oklahoma and her husband Justin; Four grandsons: Dylan Bostick, Dustin Bostick, Wyatt Meacham, Ryland Meacham. Brother Wayne Wells of Plano, Texas and his wife Brenda; her nephew Alex Wells and his wife Taylor of Dallas Texas along with many cousins and friends. She will be missed greatly, she was quiet but when she spoke people listened. She was liked by everyone.
Due to family being cautious during this COVID 19 season there will be no visitation. Graveside services will be 9:00am on Thursday, February 4th at the Ralls Cemetery and a Celebration of her life will be held at Coggin Ave Baptist Church at 3:00pm on Thursday, February 4th. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Boys and Girls club of Brownwood P. O Box 488 Brownwood, Texas 76804.
