Sharon Sue Hayes Smith Brown, 72, formerly of Bella Vista, Arkansas passed away on August 12, 2023 in Glenpool, Oklahoma after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's and complications from a stroke. Born on June 25, 1951, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, she was the cherished daughter of Jesse and Alma Hayes. Sharon leaves behind a legacy marked by love, strength, and cherished memories.
Sharon's roots were deep in Datto, Arkansas, where her character was shaped by community values and love. She furthered her education in St. Louis, Missouri, where she pursued cosmetology, a testament to her passion for beauty and care. Sharon's professional life was diverse; she managed a Sally's Beauty Supply store, navigated the intricacies of the real estate world as an agent, and later served her community with dedication as a loan officer at a local bank.
Her life was rich with love. In 1970, she entered into matrimony with Jerry Smith, and together they were blessed with four beloved children: Andrea, Tim, Sharonda, and Stephen. Their family faced the heartbreak of losing their dear daughter, Sharonda Kay Smith, in 1976. Sharon and Jerry eventually parted in 1994 and in 1995, Sharon began a new chapter with David Brown as they embraced life's adventures together until David's passing in 2013.
In 2016. fate reunited Sharon with a childhood friend, Troy Hunt, rekindling a connection that brought her much happiness in her later years. Their companionship became a source of strength and comfort for both, a reminder of the enduring bonds of friendship.
Sharon was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharonda Kay Smith in 1976 and her husband, David Brown, in 2013. She was also reunited in eternity with her parents, Jesse and Alma (Nash) Hayes, as well as her brothers Homer, Jesse Carl, Howard, Carrel, and Lonnie Hayes and sisters Gertrude Rhea, Irene Parker, Omagene Knots, Paulette Hayes, and Judy Miller.
Sharon is survived by her daughter, Andrea (Shane) Bruce of Cushing, Oklahoma; her son, Tim (Todd) Smith-Redding of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and son, Stephen (Teneil) Smith of Bentonville, Arkansas. Grandma Susie is also survived by her five grandchildren: Beau (Jacqui) Bruce of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jacob (Jaimee) Bruce of Bixby, Oklahoma, Sydne (Cody) Lizcano of Springdale, Arkansas, Will Bruce of Cushing, Oklahoma, and Rylee Smith of Bentonville, Arkansas. Additionally, three great-grandchildren, Paisley Bruce, Landen Bruce, and Andrew Lizcano, along with numerous nieces and nephews, continue to carry forward her legacy.
In remembering Sharon Sue Hayes Smith Brown, we honor a life filled with love, perseverance, and compassion. Her lasting impact will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Through the moments of strength, warmth, and love that she shared, her spirit will forever inspire and comfort us.
