Sharon Kaye (Quinn) Foster passed away December 9, 2020, in Sulphur, Oklahoma at the age of 75. Sharon was born August 8, 1945, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Charles and Helen Quinn She retired from Homeland Security, T.S.A. airport security. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Harold Foster, her mother Helen Quinn and brother Charles Jr Quinn. Sharon is survived by her children, son Jonathan Foster, wife Loretta, children: Cierra and Nathan of Arizona; Patricia Robertson of Sulphur, Ok, children: Caitlin (Robertson) McGregor great-grandson Auron, and Curtis Robertson; and Gina Foster, children: Laura Brooke and Andy Carter. Brother, Dale Quinn, wife Tamee, children: Michael and Garrett and spouses and great nieces and nephews.
Sharon’s life can be divided into four parts. She spent the first part of her life being a loving wife to the Love-Of-Her-Life Harold Foster, a homemaker, an amazing stay-at-home mom while running a home daycare.
After she raised her three children to highschool age, she took a job at Kmart where she spent the next part of her life as a part of the management team. She was loved by every employee she trained and worked side by side with everyday. While working at Kmart she lost Harold to cancer. His death took some wind out of her sail which made her start thinking about making a career change and to get out of retail sales..
This took her to the next part of her life. She became part of the Huntley security at the Tulsa airport, as a part-time job, while testing the waters of a new profession. She quickly fell in love with it and quit Kmart and became a full-time employee. After the 9-11 attack, Homeland security was formed and took over airport security and mom was sworn in as a Federal T.S.A. agent. She wore her uniform and badge proudly and felt honored to serve her country in that capacity. She was known by all of the TSA workers as the cake-lady because she baked her famous chocolate cake and took one every month to work to celebrate birthdays. The monthly cake baking started because of a coworker who had a birthday but no family to celebrate with. She baked a cake, decorated the break room and sang Happy Birthday to her! Her amazing love was felt by all and this act of kindness became tradition for years! Anytime mom saw a need she jumped right in, to do whatever she could do whether organizing a food drive, a diaper drive, a clothes drive or to collect funds to help keep someone’s electricity on. She cheerfully did all that she did as her way to share Christ with everyone around her.
After almost 15 years as airport security she announced her retirement. The FIRST comment made to her from her co-workers was “Who is going to make our monthly chocolate cake and sing Happy Birthday to us?” Because of the tight security at the airport, mom was not allowed to take a cake to the break room after she turned in her badge BUT SHE DEFINITELY TRIED!
Sharon spent her retirement doting over her children and grandchildren. Sharon spent her retirement doting over her children and grandchildren. She had enormous health issues throughout her life and if you google the word WARRIOR you will surely see her name! Even after every life changing event and health crisis, Sharon never stopped loving the Lord and never stopped praying for and loving her children and grandchildren.
When dementia was taking over her life and she could no longer live alone, she moved to Sulphur where after only a couple of years, her need for round the clock care forced Sharon to become a resident at a nursing home. Once again, her love and sweet spirit was infectious! She was truly loved by all there and was treated as everyone’s family member. She was a ray of sunshine to everyone’s day.
Her time in Sulphur was only about 5 years but her Christ-like love and smile impacted many! The outpour of condolences to her family is evidence of that! Even her church family at Woodland Acres Baptist Church in Tulsa, kept in constant contact with family even after she moved to Sulphur because everyone who met Sharon, loved her dearly!
Sharon leaves a legacy of love. We all believe her God given mission in life was to love others. She had a heart of gold and gave to anyone in need. She had the love of Christ in her and she shared that love everywhere she went.
