Shannon Marie Morehead

Shannon Marie Morehead, 74 years old, passed away peacefully in her Bixby, OK home on May 14, 2023.

Shannon was born on October 6, 1948, in Binghamton, NY to John and Ruth Reese. Shannon married James (Jim) Morehead on May 7, 1976. Jim had the honor and privilege of accompanying Shannon through 47 years of marriage.

After leaving New York, Shannon lived in Florida for a short time before moving to Los Angeles where she had a successful modeling career. It was there she met a friend from Oklahoma and came to Tulsa to visit her. Shannon fell in love with Tulsa and relocated here in 1972. She worked as an insurance underwriter and office manager. After marrying Jim, they lived in several houses in Tulsa before moving to Grand Lake for several years. They returned to the Tulsa area in 2005 and lived together in the Bixby residence until Shannon's passing. Shannon loved her dogs, reading and working in her yard and flower gardens.

Shannon was predeceased by her father John Reese in 1999 and her mother Ruth Reese in 1997. She was also predeceased by her sister Jamie Walsh in 2007 and her brother John Reese in 2012.

Shannon is survived by her adoring husband Jim of the home, her son Troy Millward and his wife Rhonda of Concord, NC, her daughter Joya Millward of Tulsa, three grandchildren, her sister Robin Hoyt, her husband Tom and their three children of Voorheesville, NY.

Shannon was an intelligent and witty woman who brightened the lives of everyone she encountered. The world will be a lesser place without this wonderful woman.
