Scott Lewis Roy, a devoted husband, father, and community leader, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at the age of 50.Born on June 27, 1974, in Shattuck, Oklahoma, to Jim and Kathy Zo Roy, Scott's life was defined by love, service, and an unwavering commitment to those he cared about. 

A proud graduate of Vici High School in 1992, Scott pursued higher education with passion, earning a bachelor’s degree in Agri-Business from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1996 and a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma State University in 1999.In 1999, Scott married the love of his life, Lauren Baker, in Jenks, Oklahoma, beginning a partnership that would last over 25 beautiful years. Together, they built a life full of shared adventures, unwavering support, and cherished memories with their two children, Emma (born 2003) and Caleb (born 2006).

Scott's professional accomplishments were marked by innovation and dedication. After a successful 15-year career in corporate marketing, he founded Trigger-Switch Marketing in 2014, where he helped small businesses thrive. He also shared his expertise as an adjunct marketing professor at several universities, including Oklahoma State University, the University of Tulsa, and the University of Phoenix.

Deeply committed to his community, Scott served as President of the Inola Chamber of Commerce and was an active member of the Board of Directors for both the Chamber and the Rural Economic Development Initiative (REDI). His leadership and vision left a lasting impact on Inola, a town he proudly called home. He was a dedicated member of the Inola Christian Church for 23 years. Scott served in various capacities throughout his time; including teaching, assisting with the church’s website, digital marketing efforts, and occasionally leading music. He especially cherished singing the timeless hymns that hold a special place in his heart.

Scott's life was filled with passions that reflected his love for people and the outdoors. He found joy in fishing, hunting, singing, traveling with his family, and cheering on his children at their sporting events. A talented athlete and musician, Scott played basketball and baseball in high school, sang in the choir, and played in the band, showcasing his multifaceted talents and zest for life.

Scott is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lewis Roy, Irma Womack, Lloyd Waldrop, Helen Roy and  Auba Pennington. He is survived by his wife, Lauren; his children, Emma and Caleb; his parents, Jim and Kathy Zo Roy; his sister, Angela Gaynor; his in-laws, Paula and Jim Baker; and a host of extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service. A celebration of Scott’s life will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Inola Christian Church, officiated by Shane Thacker. Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service & Cremation Care.
