Satyabama Johnson

Satyabama Chandrakantha Johnson, MD, MRCP, FRCP, FCCP.
February 1930--May 2022.

She was also affectionately known as "Bama", "Amma", "Ammachi", "Periamma", "Pechu Athai" and "Akka".

S.C. Johnson was born in Chennai, India to Reverend D. Thambusami and Ruby Manikam. She is the second-born of five siblings--one sister and three brothers. She is a 1952 graduate of the Christian Medical College in Vellore, India. She taught several generations of medical students and residents, and was the head of the M3/ Internal Medicine Department. She was the gold medalist and best outgoing student of her class. She followed with internship and House Surgeoncy at CMCH.

After immigrating to the United States, she earned her Nuclear Medicine Boards as well and continued her practice as a physician.

She is preceded to the throne of God by her father, mother, stepmother, siblings and husband, A.C. Johnson. She is survived by her children Rajkumar Johnson, Ebenezer Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson and Andrew Johnson: her five grandchildren, Albert Johnson, April Johnson, Christie Johnson, Joshua Johnson and Joanna George; and one great-grandchild, Dev Johnson.

Her greatest joys were found in spending time with her family and friends, and in listening to Tamil and English Christian music. She made her house a haven for the hearts and minds of those she loved.

A brief service will be held at 9AM, June 11th, 2022 at Schaudt's Funeral Home in Tulsa, Oklahoma with a graveside service and interment immediately following at Memorial Park Cemetery.
