Sarah Nell (Daniels) Matthews passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012 in Okmulgee at the age of 89. She was born Tuesday, June 27, 1922 in Haskell, Oklahoma to William Dorsey Daniels and Frances Louise (Cowan) Daniels. Sarah grew up in Morris and Okmulgee. During WWII, she worked as an aircraft inspector in a defense plant. After she married, she was a talented homemaker, who enjoyed making special dishes for family gatherings and sewed beautifully with or without a pattern. Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde C. Matthews, Jr. in 2009 and also by her parents; her sisters Edna Newstead, Floy Kennedy and Lucille Stephens; her brothers, Claude Daniels, Eugene Daniels and Bill Daniels; and her first husband, Scott Owen. Sarah is survived by her daughter Karen (Matthews) Reimer, son-in-law, Bruce Reimer, grandson, Justin Reimer and granddaughter, Brooke Reimer, all of Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by her sister, Maxine Cargill and brother-in-law, Charles Cargill of Okmulgee and her brother, Bob Daniels and sister-in-law, Charlene Daniels of Sapulpa and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will honor Sarah’s life Friday, May 25, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Okmulgee Cemetery with Chaplain Leslie Parks officiating. Services are under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 25th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
