Sarah Elizabeth Carter

March 2, 1983 until August 25, 2019

Sarah Elizabeth Carter, 36, resident of Sapulpa, joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday morning, after a 40-day battle with gastroparesis. She is survived by her mother, Mary V. Wood, her father, James R. Carter, both of Sapulpa, and her brother, Mark Welch from Dallas, TX. Sarah’s four-legged “children” were her pride and joy: Jamison, Sunday Rain, Remington, Royal. Sarah was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen Bach of Tulsa.

Sarah was a life-long resident of the greater Tulsa area, attending Union and Sapulpa public schools, and graduating from the University of Tulsa with a Bachelor of Arts in 2009. Sarah was a teacher in both Sand Spring Public Schools and more recently in the Tulsa Public School system, where she was recently awarded the Golden Apple Award.

Sarah was blessed to love, and be loved by, so many people. She had many great friends, students, and their supportive parents. Her loving spirit shined a light and will leave a lasting impression here on earth. We will miss her!

A memorial service is planned for 3:00 PM on September 8th at Asbury Methodist Chapel, located at 6767 S. Mingo Road, Tulsa, OK 74133
