Samuel Edward Godair Jr
1982-2024
Samuel Edward Godair Jr, known to most as Sam or Sammy, passed away unexpectedly on April 28, 2024, at the age of 41. Sam was born to Samuel Godair Sr and Nancy Godair on July 28, 1982, in Bellflower, CA. Though born in CA and despite having adopted a slight Oklahoma accent later in life, Sam maintained his status as an Oregonian having spent his formative years there, moving to the Estacada area at the age of two.
Even from an early age, his charismatic, outgoing, and magnetic personality drew others close, he was noted for his athleticism, and his curiosity brought with it a wealth of knowledge beyond the norm. As a child, when not playing "Cops and Robbers", three-man football, basketball, baseball, or golf, he loved to study maps and read through encyclopedias for fun. Sam was exceptional at anything he did, from Bible Quizzing to sports, to academics and debates. He loved trivia and random facts and seemed to know at least a little about everything; which is why debating with him was never recommended! He encapsulated altogether the beauty, brawns, and brains; a true jack of all trades. He was a gifted public speaker, which served him well, even as a teenager when he began to preach and inspire others. Sam married his childhood sweetheart Darlisha Sparks Godair in 2004, and they moved to Tulsa, OK, in 2009, where they established and grew their family. His manly machismo was quickly outnumbered after they welcomed four beautiful daughters.
Sam loved to travel and explore, and he was meticulous about planning eventful activities, going above and beyond to engage his friends and family. He was always quick to share and treat others to what he considered to be his best experiences; from short trips to Branson, MO, to dinner at Charleston's or Ice Cream shakes at Burgerville, his preferences and recommendations never disappointed. His diversified talents led him down a remarkably incredible career path, becoming the Vice President of American Glass, Inc. at 28 years old and later leading the company as President. Yet, if one were to ask Sam what he felt his greatest accomplishment was or what he was most proud of, without hesitation, he'd credit his four girls. His loss leaves a great hole in many hearts, yet his legacy will live on through all the incredible memories and impact he had on so many.
Sam is survived by his four daughters, Noelle, Hannah, Scarlett, and Chloe; former wife, Darlisha; father, Samuel Sr; two brothers, Jacob (Vivian), and Jesse (Samantha); one sister, Amy (Chris); four nephews and four nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy.
