Sadie Geraldine “Gerry” (Dill) Stewart parted from this earth to be with the Lord at 4:05 pm, on October 3 2017. At the time of her death, Gerry was a resident of University Village Long Term Care, in Tulsa, OK.
Gerry was born July 19, 1922 in Oxford, Kansas to Fred Allen Dill and Essie Myrtle (Eveland) Dill, the tenth of twelve children. Gerry lived most of her life in Belleplaine, Kansas until her senior in high school when her family moved to Arkansas City, Kansas. After graduating from high school she moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma to work for a company that supplied materials necessary for war time. It was then she met Floyd Earnest Stewart. Floyd and Gerry were married on April 23, 1944 in Ponca City, OK. They moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1944 and lived there until 1946 at which time they moved back to Ponca City and lived there until October, 2011 when they moved to Glenpool, Oklahoma.
Gerry was a homemaker but also known as an artist. She enjoyed hosting and cooking for family for holidays, birthdays and celebrations. Her artwork included tole painting, counter cross stitch, oil painting and sewing. She spent years teaching children in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Gerry and Floyd also volunteered for help line in Ponca City. She was a long-time member of Albright United Methodist Church, in Ponca City, where she sang in the choir.
Gerry is preceded in death by her parents, 7 sisters and 4 brothers and her husband, Floyd Stewart. She leaves her son, Dale Eugene Stewart, Tulsa, Oklahoma, daughter, Janelle Lynn Karges and her husband, David, Tulsa, Oklahoma, two grandsons, Brett Anthony Stewart and wife, Rebecca, Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Sean Patrick Stewart and wife, Daphne, Carmel, New York. Two granddaughters, Arnella Lynn Karges, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Krystal Danielle Ramsey and husband, Rick of Owasso, Oklahoma. Five great grandchildren, Taber Stewart and wife Stephanie, Carmel, New York, Megan Stewart, Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Jordan Stewart, Carmel New York, Kaylee Stewart, Enid, Oklahoma and Brandon Stewart, Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be 6:00pm-8:00pm Thursday, October 5 at Schaudt’s Funeral Service and Cremation Care Glenpool, Oklahoma. Graveside Services will be 12:00pm Friday, October 6, at Resthaven-Sunset Memorial Gardens in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
