Sabra Elizabeth Doughan

Sabra Elizabeth Doughan, age 56, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 12:27 PM in her childhood home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after an eight month battle with cancer.

Sabra Elizabeth Doughan was born November 29, 1959 in Jonesboro, Arkansas at St. Bernard's Hospital. She was born to Bill Lawrence and Bonnie Jean (Hensley) Doughan. Sabra attended Memorial High School. She was blessed with many friends. Sabra was quick-witted and always had the ability to make others laugh. She was sensitive and kind. She would always go out of her way to help others.

Sabra spent her early career working as a manager in the restaurant industry at The French Kitchen, Stussells and Interurban. Later she worked for Wal-Mart Corporation for approximately twelve years. She was hard-working and a diligent employee.

She met, then married Duane Gworek on March 28, 1987 at Holy Family Cathedral Church. Shortly thereafter they purchased their first home together in Bixby, Ok. Sabra loved being a homemaker. On December 10, 1988, Sabra gave birth to Sarah Kathleen Gworek.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Doughan in January of 2007 and her brother, Shane in September of 1974. Sabra is survived by her only daughter, Sarah Kathleen Gworek; her mother, Bonnie Jean Doughan; her granddaughter, Arrianna Nicole Gworek; her brother, Shaun Ralph Doughan; and sister, Georgia Jean Phillip.

A memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service in Tulsa, with Deacon Barrow officiating.
