Silas Russell Bryant, Jr., passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the age of 79. He was born May 31, 1932 to Silas Russell, Sr. and Cleo (Stanley) Bryant in Tuskegee, Oklahoma. Russell served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Vicki Bryant, Kathleen McClain and Avious Benavidez; brothers, Dorford Bryant and Hershell Z. Bryant. Survivors include his three daughters, Donna Coe and husband, Gary of Commerce, TX, Shelley Johnson and husband, Harlen of Poteau and Becky McGowen and husband, Nick of Summerfield, OK; three sisters, Ora LaDon Bryant Oliver and husband, John of Okmulgee; Erna Bryant Mills of Beggs; Jan Phillips and husband, Jerry of Oklahoma City; one brother, Lyle Bryant and wife, Betty of Okmulgee; fifteen grandchildren, Jeremy Coe and wife, Emily, Jessica Coe, Jenna Coe, Joshua Sconyers and wife, Jill, Kelsey Sconyers, Ashlee Sconyers, Jake Sconyers, Alyssa Sconyers, Jared Brown, Courtney Brown, Hunter McGowen, Skyler Johnson, Corey Johnson, Ian Johnson, Noah Johnson; two great grandchilden Shelby and Sadie Coe and an unborn great grandbaby. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee with Reverend Leon Barnhart officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Tuskegee Cemetery in Edna. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
