Stanley “Jack” McGuire, our Dad, Grandpa, Pepaw, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away on October 19, 2017 at the age of 92 in the comfort of his home in Jenks. He couldn't have loved his family and friends anymore than he did and he ALWAYS had a way of making everyone around him feel special. He loved with his WHOLE heart, and the more he teased you, the more he cared.
Jack was born to Stanley and Mabel McGuire, on August 10, 1925. He grew up in Oilton, Oklahoma and graduated from Olive High School in 1943. He was drafted into the Army and proudly served his country with honors during World War II. He was a POW and a purple heart recipient. After he came home from the war, he met the love of his life, Katherin Nation, also known as 'kitten” to him and they were married on December 7, 1951. They settled down in Sapulpa, Oklahoma and had two wonderful sons, Jack W., and Mark Alan. During his life he worked for companies such as Fair Oil Company and Tank Trucks Incorporated where he spent many hours in the oilfield loving the smell of Oklahoma crude oil. Upon his retirement, he proudly enjoyed working with his sons at McGuire Enterprises Inc. Later in life Jack enjoyed spending time at Fort Gibson lake fishing and having fellowship with many friends and family.
Grandpa never met a stranger. He opened his wallet and extended a dollar to anyone that he thought might need a pop or a bite to eat. He strived to let you see Jesus through his actions. If you knew him, you loved him, ornery and all.
He loved all of us very much and we knew it from his ever so famous line “I do you too.”
Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Katherin McGuire, his parents, Stanley and Mabel McGuire, a brother, Pat McGuire, and a sister Connie McGuire-Hufft.
He is survived by brother, Lonnie McGuire, and wife Janene, sister, Gerry Cowan, sons, Jack McGuire and wife, Renae, and Mark McGuire. Grandchildren, Amber Callaway, and husband Justin, Aaron McGuire, and wife Lea, Tara Williams, and husband Matt, Katie Koontz, and husband, Kevin, and Jenna Potwora, and husband Brian.Great Grandchildren, Lexi, Cody, Erica, Dillon, Blake, Jack, Landon, Aidan, Collin, Paisley, Dax, Brody, and Tinley.
We know you have thrown away your walker and are walking the streets of gold with your “Kitten” at your side, but we would still give anything to have just a few more moments with you here.
“We do you too.”
