Ruth E. Osborn

Ruth Ernese Osborn passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the age of 82. She was born January 10, 1929 to Harvey F. and Edith E. (Harris) Purdom in Pyatt, Arkansas. She was a resident of Okmulgee since 1970, moving here from Checotah, Oklahoma. She attended Oktaha and Keefeton Elementary and Checotah High School then went to Warner High School through 11th grade and then finished her senior year at Oktaha with the Class of 1948. She was a member of the Morris Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 ½ years, Raymond A. Osborn in 1989; parents, sister and two brothers. Survivors include her three sons, Gary Raymond Osborn and wife, Barbara of Checotah, Jeffery Allen Osborn and wife, Cheryl of Ames, Iowa and David Edward Osborn and wife, Kay of Morris; two brothers, Keith and Joe Purdom of Keefton and Porum; sister, Carolyn Walker of Oktaha; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee with Paul Arnold officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Checotah under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
