Ruth Ann "Pinky" Bailey Irwin

January 30, 1940 — January 6, 2017

Ruth Ann "Pinky" Bailey Irwin, daughter of Donald and Virginia (Schofield) Bailey, passed away Friday, January 6th. Her soul is now with God in heaven, free of pain and suffering. She was born January 30, 1940 in Gary, Indiana.

Ruth was raised in Bridgeport, Illinois. She graduated from Bridgeport Township High School in 1958 were she met her husband Sam Irwin. Sam and Ruth married on April 10, 1960 in Olney, Illinois. The two with their two children moved to Tulsa on September 1, 1970. Ruth started working for American Airlines in 1975 as a maintenance base ticketing agent, she worked full time for 25 years before retiring in 2000.

She was a past Worthy Matron of Martha Daylight Chapter #502, Order of The Eastern Star and a member of Will Clark-Tulsa Court No. 7, Order of the Amaranth. She was very active in International Order of Jobs Daughters. She was Bethel Guardian of Bethel #1 Tulsa, Grand Guardian of Oklahoma and Supreme Chaplin. She received the Degree of Royal Purple.

Ruth was an "Old Fashion Country Cook", loved to do crafts especially Christmas crafts and she collected Nutcrackers. Her greatest interests was her Christina Faith, her family, her many friends, her pets and considered by many as a professional bargain shopper.

Ruth is survived by her husband and two children: Shari Lynne Tumlin and her husband Tom of Bella Vista, AR; Samuel Martin "Marty" Irwin and his wife, Christie of Tulsa, OK: three grandchildren: Kyndal Paige Irwin of Tulsa; SGT. Logan Hunter Irwin and his wife Rachel of Ft. Riley, KS and Brooke Alexandria Irwin of Tulsa, Ok. Sister Gay Prien and husband Bob of Monroe, WS; sister Donna Mills of Sumner, ILL; sister-in-law Nathalie Hise of Coppell, TX.  and many nieces and nephews in Texas, Wisconsin and Illinois.

A Memorial Service will be held in Tulsa under the direction of Schaudt's Funeral Service and in Bridgeport, Illinois at an undetermined spring date under the direction of Cunningham Funeral Home. Her earthly remains will be at the Bridgeport Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Ruth's name to St. Francis Hospice, Tulsa, OK or Bridgeport Senior Citizens, Bridgeport, Illinois.
