Russell Layton Feist, age 60, passed away on March 19, 2022, in Tulsa, OK.
On July 2, 1961, Russell was born in Horton, KS, to Edward Feist and Judy Feist (Worley). He grew up in Horton and had numerous high school friends who have remained close. Russ was a proud veteran, having joined the Army after high school. He was employed at the Tulsa Boys home for 11 years and previously worked at Whirlpool Corporation in Owasso for 10 years and Walmart Neighborhood Market part-time for 5 years.
Russell married Brenda on September 1, 2007, in Tulsa. Together they enjoyed traveling to Colorado and spending time in Kansas City watching the Chiefs and Royals games. He loved sports, especially the KU "Rock Chalk, Jayhawk." Russ also spent a lot of time with his best friend, Shannon Kizer. They took many road trips together to watch College baseball, football, and spring training. They would also take early morning drives from Tulsa to KC for breakfast.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Judy Feist (Worley).
Russell is survived by his wife, Brenda Feist, his three children, Daniel, wife Aimee Mares, and daughter, Vanesa Salinas, both of Tulsa and son Hunter and wife Caitlin Grey of Moore, OK. Three grandchildren; Lexii Salinas, MarC Salinas, and Daniel Victor Mares. In addition, Russ was blessed and loved by a big extended family and a host of friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Tulsa Boys Home on Friday, March 25 at 11 am, followed by lunch and visitation with family immediately afterward.
In Russel's honor, Memorial Donations can be made to the Tulsa Boys Home.
