Ruby Mae Cothran, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 20, 2020 in Tulsa Oklahoma. Ruby was born on July 9, 1933 in Allen Oklahoma to Archie and Mary Cook. She married Albert Cothran on May 2, 1953 in Ada Oklahoma. Ruby and Al went on to enjoy 67 years of loving marriage. Ruby retired from Sapulpa Public Schools as a cook in the school cafeteria where she worked for 15 years. Ruby loved being in the outdoors. She loved taking car rides and just seeing the sites. To the very end, she loved camping, sitting out by the campfire, and having as many friends and family members as possible running around enjoying themselves. Ruby loved when her house was filled with all the kids and grandkids just having fun. Ruby’s legacy will always be her beautiful warm smile, her selfless and giving spirit, and her genuine love she expressed to her husband, family, and friends. Ruby was truly a Proverbs 31 lady. Ruby is preceded in death by her mother Mary Cook, son Albert Gerald Cothran, son John Cothran, sister Ruth Langley, and great-granddaughter Phoenix Skye Cothran. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Albert Cothran, son Dwayne Cothran and wife Vinda of Tulsa, daughter Lafonda Bruner of Tulsa, son Clay Cothran and wife Angie of Tulsa, and son Albert Cothran, Jr and wife Paula of Oklahoma City, 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of loving friends she counted as family. Viewing will be Wednesday July 22, 2020 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Schaudt’s Funeral Home in Glenpool. Celebration of Life service will be Thursday July 23, 2020 at 10:00 am at Freedom Life Church of God, 4605 S. Tacoma in Tulsa with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery in Wapanucka, Oklahoma.
