Ruby Jo Tebe

Ruby Jo Tebe passed away at her home in Sand Springs on April 17, 2019 at the age of 83. She was born to Jessie and Nancy (Cartmell) Shields on May 20, 1935 in Pawnee, Oklahoma.

Ruby met her husband Arley in 1952 and they got married at the young age of 17. They remained married from 1952 – 1989 when Arley passed away. She graduated from Pawnee High School, and for most of her life she worked at J.C.Penny as a stocker, but she also worked as a PBX or switchboard operator.

Ruby always loved flowers, gardening was one of her favorite things to do. She also loved watching the birds, going to garage sales, The University of Oklahoma Football team, Country and Gospel Music, always enjoyed reading a good romance novel or her Bible, the show Gunsmoke and old western movies. Everyone also loved the way the Ruby said “chicken” and “coyote”.

Her whole life was about her family, she loved them all fiercely. Ruby was a woman of her word and always put her family first. She believed in getting up early to get your chores done and then you will have the rest of your day to do what you want.

Ruby is survived by her 3 children; Nancy Brummett and husband Jerry of Glenpool, Tammy Carter and husband David of Sand Springs, and Arley Jr. and wife Maretta Back of Sapulpa, her grandchildren; Jennifer Carter, Jamee Ross and her husband Keith Ross, Joshua Carter, Amber Brummett, Russell Back, and Walter Bewley, her greatgrandkids; Amrey Carter, Jerrica Ross, Whitney Ross, Broadrick Ross and Wyatt Back, her siblings; Arthur Shields and wife Pat, Cecil Shields and wife Anice, Marilou Reynard and husband Wayne, Lucille Wade and husband Donald, Roger Shields and wife Sharon, Allen Shields and wife Betty, Carol Rupert and husband Gary and Diane Harwick and husband Jim.

Viewing and Visitation will be held at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service from 10:00 - 11:00AM on Saturday, April 20, 2019.

A funeral service will be held at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 11:00AM with a burial at Lawson Cemetery in Yale, Oklahoma to follow.
