Roy Alva Callaway

Roy Alva Callaway, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the age of 92. He was born June 22, 1920 to Elijah and Vennie (Paul) Callaway in Bartlesville, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah and Vennie Callaway; wife, Neoma Callaway; son, Harral Callaway; brothers, Burnis and Jay Callaway; grandson, David Lee Callaway and great grandson, Hayden Callaway. Survivors include his six children, Betty Holt and husband, David of Okmulgee, Linda Lee and husband, Bill of Okmulgee, Wayne Callaway and wife, Karen of Morris, Paul Callaway of Morris, Bill Callaway and Elden Callaway; three sisters, Mary Wade of Hulbert, Flora Murphy of Muskogee and Lola Murphy of Muskogee; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the Holland Cemetery in Tahlequah under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
